The other week a porcelain painting acquaintance came to visit us from America and did this demonstration for our club members. I took the plate home and fired it; the following week I raffled it off within our club to see who would "win" it. I won. And it was all fair and above boards too!
It took me a few fires to put enough darks around the roses to make them stand out and to give the background more interest, and then a dark rim to close the design on the plate.
