This 12" square plate has just been finished - in fact it was still a little warm from the last fire in the kiln when the picture was taken.I have ground laid metallic on the left hand side of the plate, with some raised paste under the two gold bands. The little circle you can faintly see on the top right corner is a circle of penned dots - after the first fire a blemish appeared on the glaze of the porcelain which showed up more each time the piece was fired. To make something positive out of this blemish, I circled it with the dots!
