I finished this grape plate for an exhibition in Wellington (our capitol city) earlier this month.
It now hangs on a wall in our home, with a wide gold ornate frame around it.
The look is stunning! And I love it!

Lotus plate
This plate was painted at a school I attended in Wellington (the capitol city of New Zealand) with Tatiana Agoritsas of Switzerland.
She was a delightful teacher, patient, kind and generous with her knowledge.
Unfortunately this plate broke on the first fire in the kiln, so I stuck it together with I Relief and then did some scrolls to sort of cover the brokeness. The break is from 8 o'clock to 1 o'clock.
I wasn't brave to risk yet another fire, so the lustre background hasn't been done. I don't mind the white background though - it makes a nice contrast.

Poppies - for a change!
Another class I took with Tatiana at the same school was painting this poppy.
It was a new experience for me to paint using just fat oil to mix the powder initially, and then this was thinned with lavender oil. The paint glided on so smoothly and made painting this 10" x 8" tile a delight.
There is lustre on the right hand side of the background, and texture and gold over chipped off areas.
One of the things I love about this tile is the vividness of the flowers!
