Modern Flowers 1

The design is based on one Peter Faust taught at the Sydney apat school last year.    It looked like a fun plate to paint, so I recently sat down and accomplished it!    I guess there are all sorts of variations that could be painted from the same design  . . . .   you will see the second plate I painted underneath this post.

Here is the second piece I painted with the same idea.    I filled in some of the "bubbles" with colour and I quite like the difference.    
Both plates are 12" round.

Soft Flowers

The little 5" dish here had a mark in the middle of it, so I thought I would use it to paint some really soft flowers just fading into the background.    The dark leaves cover the porcelain's blemish. 

Sally Clough used to say you need to see your painting from the other end of the room  . . . . . you can't see these flowers from the other end of the room, but close up they look soft and flimsy and sweet! 

4" Square

I was thinking of doing a traditional Chinz design on this little bowl, but before I knew it I had painting it like this! A little bit like Chinz, but definitely not a traditional pattern.
Anyhow, I liked what I did too much to wipe it off and start again.     It has the tiniest enamel dots around the inner border.  

Square Cannister

I have just finished this little 4" cannister, andd this picture shows the top.   There is black ground lay on the top, back and sides.
More info below about it though.
I am hoping I can find a good home for it, but at present it sits on the coffee table in the lounge so it can be enjoyed!   

(oh, I placed the cannister on a little porcelain bowl to give some height to make photographing easier;   this was just a temporary measure.    You can see the bowl in the next 2 pictures.)

This is the side view of the cannister.     The two sides are similar, but not identical.
The back is black gound lay with 3 large rose leaves on it.     All sides are embellished with enamel and pen work.
