Tiger

This tiger looks friendly doesn't he?    I really wanted him to look wild, however I do like the piece of art work I painted here.    I enjoyed painting it too.
Diddy Yeung from Melbourne Australia came to Tauranga New Zealand (where I live) and took a 2 day seminar with our club girls.   It was a most enjoyable project. 

Ginger Jar with a difference!

Playing around with sugar syrup the other day, I penned on these fantasy flowers.     Then slapped on the two colours of my paint with my usual medium.
After firing I sponged on black paint with water medium and when it was quite dry scratched out a pattern.
The knob at the top and the base at the bottom is orange lustre. Not my normal style, but I like it!

Geisha Girl

This Geisha Girl was fun to do.    Another one fire project by Sandra Austin from Wellington, New Zealand.   

One fire mugs!

Our club recently had a day of project day of "one fire" mugs, and Lunch Together was my choice to paint.    The way the chooks were painted gave a water colour effect  . . . . they really are quite cute!
I shall paint the other "one fire" subjects in a week or two, as I always enjoy painting one fire things for a bit of fun.

Iris Pillow Vase

The vase shape is traditionally called a "pillow vase"  . . . . doesn't look much like a pillow though does it!
The background is yellow lustre, the flowers and leaves are outlined with liquid bright gold and the inside and top of the neck is gold also.     I love the vibrancy of this vase.

Oval 6" dish

The black centre stripe is matte paint, which is a nice contrast with the very shiney mother of pearl lustre on each side of it. The diagonal stripes on the right hand side of the rose, is where I have resisted the lines and therefore there is no mother of pearl over them. I quite like the contrast. There is texture paste under the gold work . . . and a little bit of pen work too!

Easter Cross

I have been painting little porcelain crosses lately. Here is a small one which I will give to my friend Jeanette tomorrow - which is Friday the 13th. It has lovely mother of pearl on the it, but unfortunately it doesn't show up very colourful in the picure.
I applied the gold with a very fine brush (and a steady hand!)
