Pansies .......

I found this 6 x 4" tile in the cupboard the other day, so thought I would paint some pansies and have it framed in a wide and heavy frame.
I will go to the framing shop in a week or two.
This is my favourite way to frame at the moment - but my tastes change from time to time.
Do yours?

Teaspoons!

Here are three of a set of six teaspoons I have painted for the sales table at our City Rose Show to be held in two weeks' time. There are hundreds of exhibitors who compete for the prize of producing the champion rose - and each year our club has been able to have our porcelain displayed and for sale in a corner of the Exhibit Hall. Each year I like to paint pieces with roses on them for the sales table - it seems fitting somehow!

Framed Rose Tile

I painted this 12" x 8" glazed wall tile as a trial run for a 13" oval porcelain tile I purchased when in Nashville in August. I liked the result of my trial run, so Jim (my husband of 50 years and my Blog Maker) had it framed for me for my birthday. Wasn't I fortunate?

It is hanging in our hallway, and is eye catching when entering through our front door!

Oranges and Cherries

I had been wondering how a person would make the textured skin when painting oranges, and after asking a few painting friends came up with the idea of using paper hand towels that had a raised pattern of small dots on them. I painted the oranges, pressed the paper on to the wet paint and then fired. Second and third fire I repeated the same process. I am not sure if you can see the texture on the skin very clearly in this picture , but it shows clearer in "real life".
This fruit plate was fun to paint!

Rose Vase

I painted this rose vase for a friend's publication, giving instructions on how I achieved this soft technique.

The vase is presently sitting in Jim (my Blog Maker) study.

I may put more burnishing gold on it - do you think it needs it?

Heart Dish

This little heart shaped dish was a delight to paint. I painted the roses, then dry grounded the background, then put the gold band around the edge of the black and around the outside edge of the dish. Sweet eh?
