Oranges and Cherries

I had been wondering how a person would make the textured skin when painting oranges, and after asking a few painting friends came up with the idea of using paper hand towels that had a raised pattern of small dots on them. I painted the oranges, pressed the paper on to the wet paint and then fired. Second and third fire I repeated the same process. I am not sure if you can see the texture on the skin very clearly in this picture , but it shows clearer in "real life".
This fruit plate was fun to paint!
