News and Jottings!

Oh, I am unable to post anything else right now on my blog . . . . I simply cannot work it out.  I am stumped!    I posted the cup and saucer by just a fluke I think!

I have a few pictures of my latest work just waiting to be posted - it is SO frustrating when I can't do it.    Oh well, I guess the pictures will sit quietly in the computer until I can find someone to help me.

In just 16 sleeps (ie 1st November) there is a team of 5 ladies similar age to myself flying up to Mindoro Island which is west and south of Manila in the Philippines.    We will be working in an orphanage there, just doing what ever the Director wants us to do.    One of the tasks will be to mend childrens' clothing, and another task will be to update the photo albumns of the children who are shortly to be adopted out to various countries/families.     Who knows what other jobs we will get involved in?     We come home to New Zealand on the 14th November.

Google  www.ruelfoundation.com  and you will see and hear wonderful stories of children's lives being saved from dying of malnutrition,  and also results of the amazing corrective surgery the Foundation is involved in.

For those of you who pray  . . . . pray for myself and the other 4 ladies while we are away.    Among other things pray for our safety and health, for wisdom and energy, and a great pouring out of love and compassion as we cuddle and play with the children.

Thank You!

Oh Wow.... !

Oh Wow . . . I haven't been able to post any of my new work for months, as the blog site was updated and I couldn't work out how to post a picture with accompanying comments.     I tried once again a moment ago and Bingo!    It worked......
The picture below is of 3 pieces of lovely German porcelain.     Although I painted it about 2 months ago it is still sitting in my lounge on a coffee table while I think what to do with it!

Cup, Saucer and matching plate

This is German porcelain, and was just lovely to paint on.    I watched a dvd of Adele Powel-Holt and she inspired me to do this pen work and mother of pearl lustre between the painted pink roses.        It is very pretty   . . . . but who can I give it to?   (smile)
